RC10DS - 1968 Camaro
This is a nitro DS i acquired sometime in 2013 on auction. It was a project started by someone in New Jersey in 1999 but never completed. When i received it, i rebuilt and completed the car to what you see here. Stainless steel screws used throughout. HPI vintage Wide wheels/tires used on all four corners. A set of SC10 modified front axle knuckle and c-hub allowed for the HPI wheel set to be used on the front end. HPI 1968 Camaro body painted (by me) and mounted. An OS engine with a polished aluminum O'Donnell head powers this ride. Polished header & pipe make this an eye pleaser. Traxxas 2075 servos take care of throttle/brake and steering. MIP zero maintenance ballbearing steering setup is installed.
I think the guy that sold it to me would be happy with the way the DS turned out.

As an owner of a 68 Camaro for 18 years now, you get a big thumbs up from me. Also, maybe one day I'll finish my DS build that I started just about as long ago.

Good luck finding a body. They are few and far between. I have had a 68 Camaro for 25 years and I am building a DS also but I cant find a body anywhere.

Re: RC10DS - 1968 Camaro
Thanks man! hope to see that finished DS.
If you're considering doing a 68 Camaro body!, 1968 is correct. It is difficult to get the HPI 68 Camaro body. HPI discontinued making them.
Found this updated photo....body post shortened.

Much much better. Now get rid of these body discs a self-cut disc of transparent scotch tape works well too and is invisible !
Love all your 10DS builds btw... and the range of them!

Re: RC10DS - 1968 Camaro
I'll do that and post photos without the body discs. Glad you like my DS builds...i have another DS in the works. It will feature a longer than usual wheelbase to fit a particular body i wish to use.
Thanks a bunch! I'm glad you got one...they are great to work on (and addicting). Wait till you see the next DS I'm working on....hopefully that will be another source of inspiration
