Re: Some tuning options for racers and runners
yeah, alternatively, you could use a 5mm shaft with a different bearing since you can make that top one whatever you want, and use a pinion with a 5mm shaft so no drilling it out.
the idler uses a 3/8" x 3/16" bearing, so just open up the one side for the shaft to protrude, where you secure a pulley.
I wish I can remember the thread, but one of our forum members did just that. the pinion isn't as wide as the diff gear, but I doubt it matters, since you are essentially using half of the motor power anyway on the front wheels.

Re: Some tuning options for racers and runners
The large idler from a Durango Dex210 is 34T same as the oneway gear in a 4-10 gear box. I don't know if you could just press fit a couple of 6x10mm one way bearings in it and they'd hold well enough to drive the wheels though. It would be better if the bearing hole in the gear could be reshaped into a hex like on a starter gear.
The oneway bearing would stick out of the idler but the part that stuck out would ride inside the outdrive bearing inside the case.
For the top shaft you'd need a 20t gear of which there are plenty. Ideally you'd find one with a 4mm shaft since that's the ID of 3Racing's pulleys.
Outdrives are tricky too. The ones from an SC10 gear diff could work (I believe they've got 6mm shafts) but you'd need to figure out a way to keep them in place.

4 gear stealth is coming along
Like the 3-gear mid-motor Stealth I'm working on, this one would use existing chassis holes for mounting. No drilling needed in the chassis.

Race Master was the brand of Roadrunner Rc here in Houston in response to Bullet Racing which was owned by Barry Raborn, a former employee of Meir Benezra who had shops adjacent to Roadrunner. The owners didn't get along. The Race Master arms sucked but admittedly I'm probably a bit biased.

My first parts came in, these are the replicas of the 25-degree castor blocks. Just need to iron out a couple small things and they'll be ready to go. I need to place a order for some of the other items I've designed, including the transmission cases.

Very nice work
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Thanks Jeff.

I modeled those up a while back too.

Re: Some tuning options for racers and runners
Yeah, I wouldn't expect to sell many of these, since they are a replica of an existing part that has decent avalability. Although white ones may be hard to find sp maybe some people will want them... Mainly though I copied it so I could modify it to other angles. I think my +5 ones will work nice with my -5 arm mounts to give 25 deg of kickup and 30 degrees of caster.

I made it so I could order the angle that I wanted for my own personal use. I never intend to sell these.

Re: Some tuning options for racers and runners
I got my McAllister lowering kit 3D print in. It works perfectly so they'll go public tomorrow. Now if I could just get the wide rear arms in.
