If you could ask Gene Hustings...

Post by Tadracket »

Ok guys and girl , pay attention. This is easy.
The question is: If you could ask Gene Hustings any one question, what would it be?

This is why I ask. I have been chatting with his son, Steve. And I had a lot of requests. Steve is like the rest of us. His time is filled to the rim, but he is willing to help us what he can. He told his dad last night about this forum and Mr. Hustings made a note to visit it. So, if there is anything you have in mind, post it. Who knows, you may just get an answer.

I'll start.

Mr. Hustings, what is the one accomplishment of AE that you are most proud of?
He's an idiot. Comes from upbringing. His parents are probably idiots too.

I would ask him, "Wen are you going to send me that prototype RC10?"

Hehehe, I have an easy one. :D

I want to know the original history about Associated seeing Roy Moody's electric Jerobee run on the west coast and how that monumental idea developed into the long and prosperous life of Associated Electrics.

I would ask: Was there really sniper fire when you flew in to Bosnia?...never mind, wrong forum

Actually my question would be: With all of the retro re-releases, has there been any talk or even the possibility of re-releasing a limited run of the the original gold kit?

Gene does not have any influence over this issue, since he is retired. I understand that the molds are no good any more, and the market may not be big enough to justify the cost of making new molds.

I'll take some pictures of the prototype RC10, post them as a PDF, and send in the URL.

However, you can go to http://www.genehusting.com and get his 1984 DVD. That DVD has a video of Curtis talking about the proto RC10.

Welcome Steve...

as read in another post on this forum:
siebenelch wrote:I never was in the US. Maybe the RC10talk.com-community can organize a vintage meeting there.
Maybe directly at the Team Associated Headquarter in California. That would be cool! Maybe we can open a new thread for the vintage-meeting.
This is my question....what about an AE - Vintage race (ala Reedy Race of Champions?)?

Steve,

Thank you for taking time out of your undoubtedly busy schedule to join us! I think the question I would most like to ask you and your father would be:

What prototype vehicles and parts DIDN''T make it to production? (Pictures please!!!) :D :D

Thanks again for your time!
