Got ahold of Vans Invent (Dahms)

Post by toykilla »

I tried a lot of ways to contact him, and after a few months I got a response from his email. I am not in a position to buy, but he is willing to sell the molds and remaining shells:
Josh,

If you are still interested in purchasing the body molds and machine let me know. I maybe in a position to sell.

Thanks
Kevin

Good luck to whoever makes the plunge. I would love to see Dahms come back to market in some form.

This definitely sounds right up Mrlexan's alley, would be great to see Dahms start up again.
I always liked the looks of their bodies. If only I would have stocked up on some of them.

I'll give him $20 bucks for everything including shipping.... :D

Man, It would be great if someone (Mr. Lexan) started pumping out some Dahms bodies.

I especially liked their Beetle bodies and SUV bodies....

I'm sure the molds and whatever else don't come cheap.

I spoke to him several months ago and he wanted way too much at the time, so I thought I'd let it simmer a while. Additionally, he mentioned that several of the molds were not in very good shape - cracked, etc. (made out of some sort of clay?). Said everything was being stored in the crawl space/basement of his parents (or in-laws) house, so I can't imagine that environment being good for that stuff. He was supposed to send me some photos of the lot, but I never heard back.

Hopefully, someone will be able to bring some of those bodies back. I sure would like a couple of Commando bodies for my 10Ts. :D

The shape of the Commando is why I always used it on my racer - it helped it to flip back over on it's wheels.
