Re: Doritos 2nd Degree Burn and hot sauces!
Ken, those little chicken bites look so tasty!
I managed to get one jalapEno from one plant this year, not enough direct sun light where I am. Bugger!
I did get a few Chinese seven pod peppers though, I will get some pics of them.
There is a gent on Youtube that grows many different kinds every year.
He lives in Winnipeg and has told people that he does not mind sending out seeds, so I messaged him and he sent me some. Hence the seven pod strain. Holy Hot!
Those look great LG, what are the plans for them?

I dehydrated them and then reduced them into a powder which I'm keeping in a shaker. This way I'll be able to add a little heat to anything I like all winter long. Next year I'm going to grow a lot more so I'll be able to use them in a greater variety of things like maybe a salsa for example. This year was mainly a test to see how well things would go as I've never grown them before.

Brian, I left you something very special in my will. When the time comes you'll know because you will be contacted by the lawyer of my estate.RC10resto wrote:How will we know if you didn't make it

I probably enjoyed this far more than I should. I couldn't take my eyes off the weird John Malkovich looking dude towards the end.

Watching spicy food shows lead to these 6 leftover wings getting reheated in a spicy combo of a few staple sauces. That Hot Lips sauce is super smoky and no joke... Live it up fellas!

Lookin' good.^
Last year I grew Habanero peppers that got turned into 6 bottles of hot sauce in the fall. I used it throughout the winter and still have some left. This year I'm going to try growing a Ghost pepper plant for the first time.

I haven't had a ton of ghost pepper sauces or seasonings, but what I have had I really liked. It seems more Earthy than Habanero which I like. Almost like a super spicy jalapeno. Hope they turn out for ya.

I have heard that Ghost Pepper plants are pretty finicky to grow. A couple of the people the work for me have attempted a few times with very limited success. But please grow some and make some sauce!!

I've grown jalapenos which were the easiest, then habaneros which took longer, and you didn't get as many peppers, and now this Ghost pepper plant. I didn't realize they had some special requirements until I read your post and did some research about it. It's currently in a raised bed but now I'm thinking of maybe transplanting it to a large pot, so it can be kept in our greenhouse at night due to the low temps.

Re: Doritos 2nd Degree Burn and hot sauces!
I do many types of hot peppers and tomatoes every year. Love making a tasty salsa. I just might try some hot sauce this time around.
Great idea on keeping the plant in a green house at night, that will help. I use pots for all my plants due to restricted space and such.
They all grow great in a big enough pot. I hope they turn out for you, especially when you keep the plant and soil warmer than normal for a few months.
(Ken... Live it up fellas!) Love it!

Bought these to go with a little beer and football today. Better and hotter than I thought they'd be. Not crazy hot, but a little kick. It's crazy how well they recreated the fire roasted flavor in a processed food .

Re: Doritos 2nd Degree Burn and hot sauces!
I've yet to see those, they look really good.
I did end up attempting to grow Ghost peppers this past summer, and was very successful at it. I attribute it in part to having the type of weather all season they thrive in. Way too hot for me though. Absolutely brutal is the best way to describe the heat. They even made the air noxious when dehydrating them.

Hadn't posted here for a while so why not. This stuff is great if you can find it. I know Amazon sells it if you can't source it locally. I use the medium regularly and it's relatively hot. I haven't tried the XX yet. Looking forward to it. A very unique flavor.
