I've still got my 230+ hp beetle, and in December I added this project, a 2010 4wd FJ. It came from the factory with an electronic locking rear diff, which has saved my butt a couple times already. So far I've added front and rear lift (Icon springs and shocks), front Uniball upper control arms, rear lower control arms, skid plates, DeMello sliders, a BajaRack roof rack (not shown), 17x8.5 wheels, BFG KM2'S (33's), a CB, and some other odds and ends. I still want to do aftermarket front and rear bumpers and a winch, among other things. This thing is a mountain goat off road, but rides like a Caddy on road. Perfect for family adventures :-)

Picked this up a couple months ago. After working on them non-stop for two years I decided to buy one when I had the chance. Never really expected myself to own a Benz, always been a Japanese car guy.

I've had this for a few years and rebuilt for a couple years just sitting waiting to be wired up. finally runs!!

1971 restored on the cheap. Aerosol can paint job and just a freshen up. 140cc engine really livens things up. Will be taking it to get registered soon.

This is my toy. It's a 2012 and I have only had a chance to put 32K miles on it. I need to ride more!

Took the car out for an event in June and someone was taking videos and photos - thought I would share.

I removed the stock emblems from the rear of my Camaro and added a single SS like the 69 had.

Transmission in my Escalade crapped out a few weeks ago, so I went looking for something new.
I found a really nice lifted pickup online at a dealer the next town over...went to look at it. Well, they also had this, so now I do, lol.
I took the pic in the lot before I left, I haven't had a chance to get a nicer pic yet...

For some stuff that's true, but between myself (a passable mechanic) and my brother-in-law (a damn good mechanic), we can handle almost anything it'll need work-wise. I did a lot of online digging for misc common part costs, and surprisingly a lot of it is pretty close to any typical vehicle these days. One thing I've had to replace on many vehicles is front wheel bearings...so I looked that up, and this thing is old school on that. Every vehicle I've had to replace that on in the last 15-20 years required swapping out the entire hub assembly - and that can really SUCK when they are good and stuck - but this just requires changing the roller bearing itself. Yes, the bearing is about $80, but that's less than I've spent on most hubs I've had to buy. Plus, it's in great shape, and relatively low miles, so I decided to take the chance. I only drive about 6,000 to 8,000 miles per year. There will be some misc stuff to deal with, like any vehicle, but I think unless something big like the trans goes, I should be ok. That's another thing I looked up before buying...this trans is supposedly pretty much bulletproof unless you do something really stupid to it, and I'm not a crazy driver.
Plus, I had them do a couple things to it before I bought it.
So, I'm being optimistic. :D

Just picked up this gem in the Nati. Completely base model as you can get. No PS, no AC, no radio, no clock, no cigarette lighter, 4 on the floor :D

Once my other project is done this will get a very mild turbo setup and be my DD.
