Got any cells?

Post by sandkil »

Saw this last night on facebook.
It's Duracell who has managed a world record in running distance for a rc car.
I'm happy I don't solder those packs

thanks for sharing :)

What's funny is, they did this on a Ni-XX based energy source, it seems... then again Duracell doesn't cell, er, sorry, sell Lipos

I suspect there's a way to do a LOT more mileage with a LOT less heavy car... but, hey, they planned it and they executed it, so more power (pun intended) to them!

I was thinking the same thing. I'd bet a standard 2s lipo in a 10th scale car could hit about 1/6 of this distance.

Also, nice puns! lol

Well done Duracell but there has to be an easier way.

I like the fact it was done out on the real world roads with a chase car and not on a perfect surface high school runners track or something.

I feel like I get behind some one like this at least once a day... :?

But it was cool. I'm thinkin the car got quite the workout on that run and agree with romulus22 that it was good to see it on real time roads instead of those test tracks type setup

Ok, so who's gonna be the first to sue Duracell for endangering the public for unsafe operation or start a facebook hashtag movement over using a non renewable energy source ?

Traxxas will certainly sue them for something. Maybe infringement on Traxxas' patent for battery layout, or something.

Boy isn't that the truth. I have always considered traxxas the "boy among men"
