NEW RC10B5

Post by slotcarrod »

Looks like AE will have out the RC10B5

ASC90001 RC10B5 Team Kit

ASC90003 RC10B5M Factory Team (M mid motor)

Not sure any other details or when they will be out but cool that we finally get a B5 and no more of the decimal point B4's!

Are they just stock numbers in the system as placeholders, or are there pics somewhere? I went to AE's website to have a look and also put the part # in at Tower but didn't find anything.

Ooh I think I'll have to wait a bit on getting a Centro kit.

The numbers were found on the back of the new TC6.2 manual (PDF) but have now been removed from the AE site. :?: :?: :?:

The Cliff Lett Radio Impound cast mentioned AE had new products due and a AE mid motor car underway that wasn't the Centro as such.... sounds interesting. Be nice to see an official mid AE car for both sides of the pond...

If you do a search on AE's website for RC10B5 or RC10B5M it takes you to the TC6.2 manual PDF but you are correct it has been changed. This shows it was put their by mistake or on purpose to start some hype then kindly removed.

AE has been testing the new car for some time, however was put on the back burner when the worlds (pre-warmup really) rolled around and everyone ended up running the mid motored cars. I would bet however that the rear motor car will be out soon enough though  . -J

I wonder how much of an advance it will be compared to other mid / rear motor buggies? I'm hoping it will be very competitive (as I'm sure it will be) but it would be nice to see AE raise the bar

And I was just about to order a centro…

My guess is the B5 will make its debut at the Reedy race in January.

From what I have heard of it so far, it is more like a B4.3- I hope that the "A" team doesn't play it safe 8)

I sure hope they do. I'm being tempted by the DEX210

DEX210 is a nice KIT, but it just a PITA to remove the RM GB setup. now that the parts are out ( GB that is) you don't have to resort to MOD the Rear Gb link/stud holder ( where the Rear link mate with the GB).

I have started to here some people at my local track talk about what to expect from AE. I keep hearing that it will I be 2 cars just like Serpent with their newest 2WD buggy. So it's sounding like it will be a new rear motor buggy along with a separate Mid-motor buggy. This makes the most sense to me. Take full advantage of each motor/tranny position with out any sacrifice. Also makes more sense then to be rushing to switch from one to the other inbetween heats. I tried that with a Durango last year and it was a pain. I suspect I it will be out just before the REEDY Race or right after. Obviously

but not necessarily for the others... neither for the manufacturer ;)

I say it will do both... like all the commercially sensible competitors, Dex, Kyosho, Losi...
