Anyone polish Polished shapeways?

Post by Minisforever »

All the polished shape ways parts I have received in the past months has a sandblast finish to them. Did the shapeways polished parts always have this rough surface to them? What's the easiest way to get them to have a smooth polished surface? I been using sand paper and elbow grease, but there's gotta be an easier way  What's everyone's techniques?

Mine too, I thought it was normal and odd for them to call is polished! :|

Just boiled mine in tea and never bothered to sand but I would imagine fine sand paper would do the trick!

If the part is flat where you want it to be polished, use a whet stone.

Something higher than 800 or 1000 grit to polish it and in a few minutes you will be as smoooooth as Rod's butt!
