New RC10 Kits (Combos)

Post by Brad »

What are the thoughts on the all inclusive kits being offered by I guess team Associated. I noticed they offer a kit for $760 to include ESC, battery , motor and servo. I am hearing there is a similar kit with a mod motor being offered for $499 but cannot seem to put may thumb on it. Does anyone know anything about these combo kits and which models they are being offered and in what flavors. I see it as a good buy. If anyone has any cons or general info I would love to hear.

Just to be clear, I am speaking of the team kits not the club kits. And mostly interested in the B6,B6D and B64D

if its exactly what you want then its probably a great deal. They get to promote their own line and save you a few bucks

to me, it reminds me of the Tower Hobbies Car Completer sets, where you get a Pulsar radio, battery and quick charger. Thinking not required. I'm shocked they arent RTR yet

One thing I advise is to evaluate the electronics included in these combo packages.

They are not even remotely close to RTR. It’s the team kits with Reedy electronics (their better stuff) at a discount for buying all together. These are great kits if this is the platform you want to run on. I am interested if anyone knows part numbers on these $499 kits I’m hearing about so that I may look up the details and do more research. You know super consumer style. Overthinking everything. The Kits for $760 I know come with the Reedy 510 ESC, Reedy servo, Reedy 7.5, and a Reedy LiPo shorty pack. Part #90012C

I’m thinking the other kit options come with lower end battery, servo and ESC. Still has a 7.5 though.

Its not well suited to me since although um a huge fan of old brushed reedy stuff, im not a big fan of modern reedy. I dont think its bad stuff, but not my top choice for any of the components.

It is a good deal if thats what you would choose though.

Ive never heard of a package deal between the club racer and the higher end package that you mentioned

Where are you seeing these $499 options? All i see are the club racer versions or the team kit versions with the high end electronics.

Where can one see these combos? I didn't see them on Associateds website but I didn't look hard either.

So I held one in a box seemed heavy enough to have electronics in it. Didn’t locate a model number on the box and I believe the picture showed a mod motor and perhaps I guess the 1000z. I was the same box color as the higher end B6D kit. So yes I’m super confused as well. And that’s why I’m asking the pros!!! You guys have the answers to everything!!

I think you should just buy the kit and add the parts you want...

It sounds like you are looking at a combo deal in an actual LHS?

Just add a "C" to the kit number and they come up .

Yes, Thats the $760 combo kit. Ok ok. I guess I will just have to buy this thing and expose it! What I’m speaking of is a real all inclusive team kit. It is not a “LHS” (local hobby shop, lol took me a while to figure that out) package combo. It is in the box factory sealed.
