CAD & CAM files

Post by myfordcnc »

Starting a post for Cad/Cam files. For now I'll focus on rc10 stuff but it is open to all rc stuff. If you post a file state what model it's for and what part it is in the title. Or just what model its for. For example "Rc10 rear arm mount". I'll be using dropbox for now. I'll post more in the coming days.

I have an Associated RC12E and RC12i drawn in solid model that I did years ago. If anyone would like to see them I'll try to get them posted.

Hi, I am currently trying to draw my complete rc10 car in inventor in my spare time. I don't have a lot of it done but I figured id share what I have so far. some are assemblies of several parts put together. have more parts drawn but didn't want to put up to many pictures haha.

Why did you model the rear arms with an upward kick at the end like modern cars?

Here's a front original RC10 arm mount that I did in Inventor.

It's close to what is on my car, I still have to add to cross pieces that go on it and make some minor tweaks to the parts and then it should look more normal.

Here's a JRX-Pro chassis that I did in Inventor. I rendered it in carbon fiber. There is one change to the chassis from stock. The trailing arm holes are for Bullet Racing trailing arms and not the 5 link.

Your drawings are pretty good if you don't mind me asking where did you learn to draw like that

Very cool! lots of respect for those that can do this stuff. I will learn one day.

Unless I'm off my meds I think you forgot a bend in the kickouts on the chassis. The area in front of the battery has two angles to it not just one. This chassis looks more like a T2 (which is awesome, just wanted to point it out)

Keep up the great work!

All looking great. I wanted some feed back on the use of the Dropbox option for sharing actual part files. What do you all think? Here is a capture of an arm i drew as well as the parts file.

I initially learned 3D at work but as with anything else making things look really good comes down to practice and patience.

yeah I know what you mean after learning just last year in high school engineering class I still feel like I have a lot to learn in being patient and just learning how to use inventor but will get there in my drawings eventually.
