Re: Radio Control Model Cars 1991 Off-Road IFMAR World, Detroit
Does anyone have any shots or scans of Masami's 91 yokomo prototype from Detroit? I think it was featured in an article in Car Action back then but I am unable to find it anywhere?
I come for the RC10's but stay for the Yokomo's

Hey Toaster,
Unfortunately no photo shots of Masami's (or Cliff Lett's winning car for that matter) '91 Detroit Yokomo were allowed without the body on. The only close up pictures that I have seen of the '91 prototype Yokomo's is Cliff Lett's shown on this thread (Cedric is the man) and in a DVD of the 1991 IFMAR World Championships. Both times are with the body on although on the DVD, there is some footage of Cliff working on his Yokomo and it looks like the chassis layout had the batteries in the same configuration as Masami's 1989 World Championship winning Yokomo i.e. 4 cells side by side on the right side and 2 cells front to back on the left side.
I am not sure if anyone on this thread remebers but a prominent racer in the 1990's by the name of J.D. Beckwith released a chassis set for the Yokomo YZ10 which featured this type of battery configuration
Vin

It seems I cannot find RCCA coverage of the 1991 Worlds in here(might be wrong though).I think it is in the September 91 issue (has a small stealth car photo on cover and I think some black and white photos /sneak peak of it inside).I think that might be the same issue that has some photos of the XX proto car?
