Re: Associated's RC10 Classic
Hmm. Not what I would expect from a $250 kit.
I know all the chassis have them, but what the heck are those bent areas on the base of the chassis where the bulkhead mounts? There is no way to stamp the chassis without them?

Re: Associated's RC10 Classic
I bet they just forgot how to stamp a decent chassis since they stopped in the early 90's... they have to relearn it again

Actually, that almost looks identical to my Edinger pan.... just a bit more severe.

Re: Associated's RC10 Classic
My chassis is not bent that much but the anno is quite a bit lighter with some darker spots around the holes. We can now have a topic on chassis variations. Since mine seems lighter is it an early Commerce Drive?

The first 6 prototypes were machine stamped, but were then hammered into the final shape by hand.scr8p wrote:the first 6 were (or should i say 7).....THE H.P FREAK wrote:HI!... I thought all the original RC10 chassis were hand bent?

Re: Associated's RC10 Classic
Do the arms that come with the classic have the same stop built into them that the old arms did? If so...I'm thinking this would not "catch" very well with the stamping like that. I know those don't last long anyway but this looks like it would almost miss catching altogether
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Re: Associated's RC10 Classic
Perhaps this is the 'differences' they were talking about to distinguish between originals!
Had some re-released parts come through this week, are they meant to be distinguishable from original parts in some way? From a quick look most bits look identical with no stampings etc?
Not really a concern here as my car is a runner, and good to have cheap parts available again, but can see some not liking it?

It's got allot of holes in the back compared to my A stampTHE H.P FREAK wrote:HI!... Well one of the guys over at Tamiyabase got their RC-10 today. He was not too happy about the stamping of the chassis.
Other then that they look very similar

I prefer a rounded corner to the re-re square cut out

Re: Associated's RC10 Classic
this one already has a name. "classic". no need to worry about what street team associated is on with these.

Re: Associated's RC10 Classic
Or that could be Chinese Edition. At least the main parts are made in the US.uniquenamehere wrote:We could call it the RC10 Commerce Edition... or RC10 CE for short?CamplinP wrote:It would be the Commerce Ave. Sort ofhugger19 wrote:well u have the edinger and the caddilac rc10's, i guess this rc10 will be called the lake forest edition lol.
