He is Kinwald's actual car. In that pic, the screw is in the right hole, but you can see the new hole in the center. I have another pic of it somewhere that the screw is in the center, so i just put mine in the center.

I'm always in awe at your chassis-hand-milling-and-modding skills

Thanks. It's stressful work when you don't plan on re-anodizing the stuff.

scr8p it must of really been hard for a pro like you to have to intentionally duplicate a wonky hole. ;)

I'm a big fan of your replicas keep up the good work.

Like Indiana Jones says: "90% of archaeology is done in the library, research"

I cant even find photos of the cars I would like to replicate.

1. Jamie Booth. RC10 Euro 1986 (SWB, wide axles, low profile Demon Body, playtron Block rear tires, supershot fronts, 131SH servo, Demon proking, Reedy silver dot motor.) photo Radio Race car UK.
2. Mike Christiensen. MIP RC10 worlds 1987 (MIP SP1 transmission, MIP trailing rear arms, Kyosho gold shocks, Composite craft graphite chassis) photo in UK magazine
3. Phil Davies. RC10 1988 (Car given to him by Cliff Lett, Cadillac car, black andys wide arms, kyosho Ultima Hub carriers and Spinners, Prototype hand machined 3 deg rear arm mounts) No known photo. I saw this one in person.
4. Nick Adams. 1988 RC10 (MMS Shumacher cat rear transmission, Composite craft light weight honeycomb graphite chassis, MIP old style rear tower, Demon mirage body) I have a photo of this car but the parts are impossible to find.

Ehh........ a hole is a hole. Just mark it and drill it.

The Phil Davies car sound like the one Cliff used to win the '88 ROAR Nats.

Yes very similar. THe prototype rear arm mount can be seen In another photo here of a Jay Halsey car same ROAR national I believe.
I actually had Phil's car in my hands at a 1/12th National back in 1988. After the 87 worlds Schumacher who already imported reedy motors also started importing Associated and team drivers where given RC10's. I'm not sure it lasted long because the Topcat came out at the end of the year I think.

Its funny Phil actually told me about the Kyosho parts. What I did not know at the time is that the Losi JRX2 prototype had an Ultima front end, and that the production car apart from going from metric to SAE was still hole for hole compatible (in the front).

When I built my replica of Cliff's above car, I used Losi steering knuckles with AE axles. I never had any Kyosho pieces in hand to see how similar they were until after I built it.

UM11 and pins UM8 spinners are identical. I imagine the hinge pin is bored to 3mm instead of 1/8". When did the JRX2 actually get released?

Pretty sure 1988. Could be early '89 though.

Dropped my last little packet of red Lightspeed dye in the pot to do the antenna mount and rear shock bushings. Did a couple other pieces too...... for other projects.

That's some nice red. Do you save your dye, like, pour it in a jar to use again?

Yeah, I'll pour it in an old milk jug or something. Eventually it gets weak, but it stays good for awhile.

Looks good Jason. I like the red.
At risk of insulting you, are the holes on the battery box crooked on purpose? We're they that way on Masami's car?
