About OLDRC.COM and Sabula Tech

Post by mytimac »

Sabula Tech was formed originally as a computer and pinball support and service company. Now it is mostly RC and Pinball.

I am also the creator of the vintagelosi.com website. While running vintagelosi.com, people kept asking to buy parts from me and I directed them to other places. Three years ago pinball was taking over my life and I decided to get rid of all my old Team Losi stuff. Since I was getting rid of my stuff I added a simple list of parts for sale on vintagelosi.com. I was then contacted by a former dealer in Albert Lea Minnesota to buy all his old inventory that had been sitting ignored in an old store for 10 years. Then at the same time I made a deal with another dealer in Rochester MN who had stuff just sitting in an old location. These parts helped start the online store and now I sell all brands, not just Team Losi.

The store has gone from around 500 items at launch to over 2400. Recently I have started making 3D printed versions of older Losi items. I have tried talking to Losi about remanufacturing parts and they are not interested. So as time and money allows I will be getting new tooling made for older Team Losi parts. New tooling is very expensive so it will be a slow process at start. The coming years will hopefully allow more growth into manufacturing parts for other brands and working with other companies to bring their older products to market once again. Some companies have been very receptive to remaking older parts.

Thank you to everyone who has been a customer so far, your purchases have allowed me to get things out into the wider market for all the fans of these older rc products. The money made from each sale goes right back into acquiring more parts and soon the manufacturing of new tooling to remake parts.
