Wow lotsa stuff this month... @EOL I bow to your persistence in entering tamiya cars  an off-body pic, maybe, so we better understand what's under there? Looks like some kind of topforce with hi-caps and stuff?

NP - can you please elaborate in your entry what this is? Some kind of resto-modded TopForce? Sorry, not a specialist. This might get you a few more votes, because it's anything but obvious what this is... and I love the BotM contest because I learn about tons of cars I would have never stumbled upon otherwise :)

The front and rear gearbox are Top Force and so are the front and rear shocktowers. Like you said the shocks are from the Top Force too. Chassis are carbon (repro) made by Nick Walker, RW style. Its made to look like Jamie Booth's Tamiya Manta Ray/Racecraft but with my own colours 🙂

Paul,
you're kinda into the champaign traxxas nitro hawk chassis. There was the NitroHawk truck version, NitroBuggy buggy version, and NitroStreet car version. Kinda following along the traxxas use/reuse same parts for a ton of other cars/trucks over the years situation. The truck of course fell into the stadium truck era and was alot more popular but the tried and true buggy guys needed something to run once nitro started taking over also so along came the nitro buggy. The nitro street competed with the rc10NDS around here locally but they didn't fair too well. They were all a beast on the oval but like alot of traxxas stuff they just didn't steer and not alot you could do to make them steer without falling off the throttle. The guys that were kinda successful with them just needed to time it right coming out of a turn. if it was pointed right where you wanted it the things would shoot straight with full throttle without waving all over the place like my associateds did. Associated was more tuneable anyway. My LHS is still mostly traxxas and can still find some of the parts on the shelf for the nitro buggy

Todd

The tubes on that rail, holy moley, looks like a candy red metallic? And then the seamless tube-to-body transition there at the front with the body on... Well, then there's the wheels....well the whole darn thing is just pretty neat!
Hope you're doin' something fun.

Todd, thanks for the history lesson. I certainly remembered the ST and the onroad version, but I couldn't recall a buggy one... it's pretty cool :)

Thanks!
