RC12E Runner #2?

Just got this car in from the Netherlands. I know it's a weight saver, but unsure if the chassis has been cut out more or if it actually came that way. The front bumper almost feels like foam and is very flexible. It has a light weight metal diff axle that is hollow on both ends. This car really doesn't need much work cosmetically. The plastic parts are all nice and white still. The motor will be going over to my 12i after a rebuild and the 12i motor to my rusty RC12e project. I'm thinking this car will be made into a runner. For this project nothing will be altered except the electronics. I'll make my own front bumper and radio tray so no original parts will be altered and the car can easily be put back to stock if desired.

I think that's the infamous "keyhole" chassis. I don't have one of those to use as a pattern

The bumper looks like the older large bumper but if you say its light I bet someone made it.

I'll get that chassis to you this week. Copies are a good thing.

I think the bumper might be home made as it's not hard plastic like the normal ones.

The local plastic shop had some awesome scraps this last week, I found some kydex that's perfect for retro bumpers and some white that looks very close to the 12e/I bumpers. I should have grabbed more

If u want the chassis copied I'd be happy to....I barely ever screw up the original 8) lol

I'm not worried about the chassis as it's rough anyway. It's the perfect time to make a copy of it. I'm in no hurries either so you can take your time.

You can use .125" Plastruct from Tower Hobbies for bumpers and radio trays. This is what I used to make the bumper on the 12e clone. It's the perfect thickness and you get enough in one package for several bumpers or enough to make two standard radio trays and two bumpers.

You get two sheets.
