Ye' old and golden Optima...

Post by UltraHIVE »

Hey all, heres some pics of the last Optima I had about 9 years back. It was the last of 12 I had collected. This one later became a Javelin, better pics to follow 8)

yea i kinda miss it, more so for how it was setup as a Javelin, but it paid off in the end. I think it sold for 1k, which was perfect in a time of financial need.

Very sweet model, in both setups.
An original Optima is on my short list of future scores...

I really like the body in the first couple of pics. The gold really looks good as one paint with the black, red, yellow, and white, but not if it was all gold, then it would look like a gold brick

Yeah, the Optima Pro body was a seriously underrated body.

A beautiful car in either form, but I prefer the Turbo Optima configuation just a wee bit more. Optimas are so cool! 8)

I personally don't care for the Optima Pro body. Of all the Optima variants, the best looking one for me is an original Optima body with a wing added. Second choice would be a green Javelin and third would be the Turbo Optima.

Regardless, that's a gorgeous example of a Gold Celebration Optima! I like the gold CVD's. All you need are those uber-rare gold front hubs, king-pins and turnbuckles. 8)

to be honest, i am happier not to own this anymore, then when I did. i started to practice purging a few years back, and recently felt the need again, due to my current collection. its good to purge now and again, also feels good to get paid on the time you invested in the build and parts hunt. Im sure this will turn some stomachs here, but its better to purge then horde in my opinion. id also rather run something then shelf it, or run a shelf model without worry, but thats a decision based on how well you handle an items loss of value
