Hot Trick Optima
I figured I should start putting up some of my rides on occasion.
I am a big fan of modified cars especially - and you guys seem to appreciate them.
This one took four years to get together - however the result in the end was worth it..hope you think so too.
I have plenty of others to add - just wont overdo it - as I am no "bragger"......just love these damned old cars !
I Will let the pics do the talking!
Cheers

Re: Hot Trick Optima
Hi mate,
Did you see the article in R/C CAR ?
I have plenty of pics of the 12e - in fact I built up a standard and a weightsaver side by side, from NIB parts........took photos along the way! Still have plenty of 12e bits NIB too..............
RC10??? : Currently restoring my MIP legends runner and building a new built one as well.......Tekin, MIP and other hop up RC10 chassis cars on the go (currently 7 RC10's)- way to many projects and way to little time....dont get me started on the Losi's I have on the go!!
I will put them up soon if you really would like to see them.....just dont want to be seen as someone who likes to boast....again - I love this stuff - my passion for it is very strong.
Cheers

Re: Hot Trick Optima
Christ man! Put 'em up!!! This is all about the boast!
Sorry, I don't sometimes get the magazines... I might go a few months without visiting the LHS.
I've posted a few of my RC12 projects, but they don't really seem to be a hot topic around here. I know there's some small scale perverts hiding out though.
I've almost completed my RC12 alphabet, plus a few significant oddballs. I've been meaning to get the compilation together and posted...
I won't further hijack your thread, sorry.

Re: Hot Trick Optima
Thanks guy's - comments appreciated very much!
The Hot Trick gear in all honesty really did not make alot of difference to the perfomance back in the day - although in this case the lower chassis and trailing arms really made the car alot more "grippy"....but geeeeez their gear looks great all built up.....got a hotshot and a couple of others to build too.
Temple - mate - dont worry about hijacking the thread mate - thats how friendships are formed - I am all for that... Would love to see some of your 12e's - in fact I think I have somewhere on here?
Cheers guys

Re: Hot Trick Optima
oh, and don't worry about posting too many pics. i don't think there's such a thing.
it's nice to see other people's collections of finished and "in progress" cars.

Yeah - they worked brilliantly on hard packed clay and blue groove tracks - but thats about it.....useless on any other surface.JK Racing wrote:I loved those tires BITD...I dont remember them in 2.0, only 1.5.

Should add that this car has a ball diff in the rear, belt drive conversion and one way fron diff as well as many other options like captive ball joints, adjustable turnbuckles etc
Thanks for the comments.
Cheers

Re: Hot Trick Optima
Darryn - this is one of my favorites. Sooo nice and red. I'd like to see some of your RC10s, even if not complete. Oh, and your section on RC Car is the first thing I turn to when I get the mag each month.
