Kyosho America customer support

Post by XLR8 »

I've assembled the Turbo Scorpion and it's time to glue the tires except that all 4 of the kit wheels are really badly molded (outer rims are deformed, wavy and dented and the wheels don't spin true). Clearly, on the day these were made, the molder was asleep at the wheel (pun intended). Anyway, I've contacted Kyosho America yesterday afternoon (New Years Day), attached a couple pics, not really expecting to hear back from them for a few days and this was their reply:

"kyoshoamerica

Hello Doug,

Sorry to hear the wheels were not up to our standards, and more importantly, your expectations. That's our fault. I would be happy to send you another set of wheels when I return to Kyosho America tomorrow. If I send you a return shipment label with the package, I'd like to send those back to the main office in Japan to show them what you received. I'll be in touch soon. I'll be packaging a new set of wheels for you tomorrow (Tuesday).

Best regards,"

I received this message sometime after 6:00 PM CST on New Years Day. Assuming they follow-through (and I believe they will), I am very impressed! 8)
Doug

Wow, thats definitely better than most as far as customer service. It seems like in general, Kyosho might appeal to the more advanced RC-er, and have a few less "look what happened when I send-ed it!?!??!" type of claims to respond to... which I would think makes it easier for them to be less picky on claims.

Might be a lot of truth in that.

I totally agree! This is only the third Kyosho product I have ever owned and I'm quickly developing a lot of respect for them. The parts quality, packaging, presentation, documentation, and now their customer support are absolutely first rate. They even included a bag of spare parts. Awesome!!

Now, if they would just re-release the Mid I would be ecstatic. :D
