So far I have used a thin piece of wood to make a chassis template. I'm playing around with the rear to make it wider.

I made some progress. One of the stumbling blocks was how to cut the chassis. About a month ago I was at the flea market and I found a router table and router for $30. Today I had to move it out of my truck. I went to the Hardware Store, got some mounting bolts for the Router and started playing around cutting some FRP. I wanted to prove my process for cutting out chassis's. I found it works killer.





I wasn't totally happy with the chassis template I've made so I'm gonna bust something new.

Basically it does exactly the same thing as a pin router without all the trouble of building it and adjustments. The only reason I didn't go that route was the diameter of those bits is large and the type of bits are pricy. For doing chassis and parts it should work great!

If you need more precision you may want to bolt the parts together using short spacers. The foam tape I use works on big stuff but the smaller the more it can move.

If your router has speed adjustment, play with it. I have found certain speeds and thicknesses work better together. You hit a "sweet spot"

You're right the plates started moving on me. The 3mm very high bond tape usually works pretty well but I was just doing something quick and dirty to see how it would work. When I go for the final cut it's all going to be bolted together.

Years and years ago I had a chain drive MIP parts lot. They didnt fit on any version of the rc10 legend, that I had built, and am wondering if they were intended for the srb? They were metal though, not delrin. The chain sprockets were quite pointy.

Those are some KILLER parts, Shodog and you can SHOW OFF all you want, I have no prob with that

I can't believe you have NIP CB 89s and 1886s, beautiful, really mouth watering. those swing shafts are nice, really engineered for performance and durability.

Loving the MIP parts, the MIP molded on the front arms add that extra value to the part and it more special

Blue and gold works so well... and that transmission is so mythical, this should clearly end in a BotY kind of final competition when done!
