Heading back to the track today. We'll see how the new setup works.

32.5 / #1 / green: front
35 / #2 / blue: rear

The outer rear hinge pin is moved to the upper hole in the losi hubs now, too.

Glued up a set of Primes for my kid's Worlds car last night. Before they got dirty.....

So my kid's car seems to work pretty well. But, since it's the same setup that I ran in my Worlds car at the Vonats in September, i figured it would be decent.

My car....... it did not like the blue rear springs with the #2 pistons and 35wt oil. Off the jumps they would just throw the back of the car in the air. Ran a couple of laps and i knew it wasn't going to get any better  , so went back to the pits and put on a pair of silvers on the back. That seemed to calm it down nicely. I think I'm going to try dropping the rear oil to 32.5wt and see how that goes for next time. But until then, here are some action shots.

He can’t deny his love and passion for Kyosho any longer now. I’m sure he actually secretly raced a Raider which would explain all the setting up hassle he’s reporting ;-)

Just as we were getting our first packs in the cars, they decided to water the track. We waited a bit for it to dry, but it was kinda slimy. He was getting around good on the second run. Third run you could tell the track was drying out and getting a little dusty but it was still decent. Just had to watch how much throttle you gave it in the corners.

I still want to try a set of Inversions.

Another great time at the track. One of these days I'll get the right tires  (or at least do a correct glue job next time I get some primes. ). The dirt webs I used were great at the end of the day when the track was getting dusty but the primes on your sons car looked to work great out there.

If the jumps are tossing the back of the car, shouldn't you want to increase dampening? Going from 35wt to 32.5 might make it worse. If your're running the bottom shock mount in the arm's second hole, maybe try just moving it to the outside hole and try that. The risk is that, depending on available grip (track conditions, tire choice, etc.), making the back of the car stiffer can tend to loosen the car a bit and can even lead to over-steer in extreme cases.

Drive it like a slash driver, who needs damping anyways? Just smash your way around the track.
