Very nice! I ran my 22 for the first time last weekend. The car is fantastic. Mine is in the rear motor format. Your XX is very cool. I remember running those cars for many years. I remember the wheel discs - although we ran the rear discs on all four corners. I remember this was something the team guys at that time did. We put the front wheel on with a mini-nut, and then put the rear disc on backwards and secured with a nut. You might see that if you look at some old XX photos from bigger races prior to the 5 spoke XX wheels coming out.

Thats funny, I've had some rear discs I got off ebay for a while with the plan to do exactly that! If you look carefully in the first pic of my very first post in this thread, you will see the rear discs on the front!

Thanks for the comments also :)

Oh, and here's the 22 completed...awesome car to drive.

I fitted up new Trinity Purple hydra drive screws recently, I couldn't bear to open the NIP hydra drive, so I stuck them on the old one

Looks ace though, although I now need to remove the blue anodising pieces...

I'm still hunting for parts for this car, and a couple of excellent finds came my way recently:

First off, some LOSA9924 Aluminium driveshafts, which I have been hunting for since I started the build, so proper happy to finally get some:

Fitted them up to the car, I think they look ace!

..and then an even better score....a NIP Losi XX graphite chassis!! Something I have also been searching for since the start of this build!

Although the purists among us wont be happy with the underneath, as it sports a newer logo and not the original, but I think I can live with that.

Love those Ali shafts ben - they were loads lighter than the steel versions but IIRC they wore pretty quickly, think they'll be durable enough for shelf duties though

The purple Trinity screws look sweet in the Hydradrive.... what other purple bits could you get to match?... I have a feeling there was a purple Trinity Cell cushion?

Good score on the graphite chassis too - weird about the later logo on the base - I have an early XXX buggy which was pre-the later 'Team Losi' logo, this must have been a very late production/end of line part?

They are ALOT lighter, yes. I should of weighed them! They'll work fine on the shelf Dan

No more purple bits ATM. I can only remember purple wing buttons, would love to find a set! Screws also I guess, I dont want to 'tart' it up too much though - will leave that for my XXT G+! :D

I am going to see if I can find some more chassis, might be worth trying to find one with the old-skoll writing on now I have my 'banker' chassis! Hahahaa

Sounds like there is some differences in all the chassis' then!

Trinity purple wing buttons to match the hydra drive:

And another NIP XX chassis but with the old skool 'graphite stamping' on! :D :D :D

I'll be selling the other NIP chassis, look for it in the FS section shortly...

This week I was searching ebay for XX/XXT parts to feed my hoarding habit, and I found this awesome part that I had completely forgot about, I did have one of these on my first XX, before Trinity started to release the blue ones. I snapped it up, this is about as vintage as XX parts go, but I am really happy to of bagged this. It was from the UK too - suprising, but a bonus

I'll put this on with the new chassis when I get a chance, I have also ordered some more wheels - I am going to try something a little old skool Losi with them

I thought it was about time I fitted the new XX chassis I recently acquired, along with a couple of other new items. I also removed the white bulkhead and dyed it black, happy with the result.
Old vs new, chassis swap half done.

These new bits have transformed the car, another level up now, it all looks so spankingly new, TBH its a shame to put the body shell on!

I am running out of parts to find for this car now, but I still have a few ideas, and 2 more body shells to paint, so I think there is life in this project yet

I guess since I have replaced most of the parts on this now I can't really call it a Kinwald edition

Cheers dan, with my current plan its gonna get hotter! (its a pun that will reveal itself once complete!)

Yeah, I must admit that brace was not a common part even back then, hence why I am glad to of found one!

I really need to get the Jammin bodyshell painted up now.
