Hopefully they learned something from Kyosho here! For the most part, Kyosho has always had the really good shocks!

Heh. I figured the new big bores would end up being just cut down versions of the SC104x4 13mm shock bodies but looks like these are going to be 12mm versions of the v2 shocks.

I'm going to guess stroke measurements will be listed in metric and from time to time there will be a post here asking, "what size AE big bore fits the gold pan?"

Those "vented" lower spring retainers look pretty cool, if that's what they are. But what am I missing..why are there are 12?

why wouldn't you just use the tallest spring cup??? it's not like it's a touring car with tiny shock travel and you need to center the range of motion.

I figured they're for limiting up travel?

I felt kinda bad though. On second thought, he's a man without a track now, so what else is there to do but ramble on for pages...

Well, I ran the car with the new chassis yesterday (narrowed truck chassis). Hard to tell if it was an all around solid move as of yet. I felt the car was definatelly more stable in the air, jumped better, and could be driven harder. But because I only ran a spec tire (AKA Rebars for next weekends race) it was difficult to tell a few things. The tires have no surface features that make them good in the lateral acceleration department, and side bite is only a B+ (compared to a Losi red BK bar -best tire on this particular track). Because of this the car felt as though the front was over sprung. In hard sweepers, and under braking the front would not dive enough, and in some corners the front inside tire would lift

. I have the chassis setup with the same overall weight and F/R distribution as previously run. I am ordering some Durango BB springs, and hope they will be here for the weekend. If the track comes in it may not be an issue, however these tires are only just so so. I am currently running Losi BB springs front an rear (red F, yellow R), and the car with the "right" tire is fabulous.
On a relativelly cool note, we have had 2007 World 2wd champ Hayato Matsuzaki staying here in the bay area, and I hung out with him for practice on saturday. He was running his Yokomo 2wd car, and was very fast. Happily he and I were the only two in the 21 second lap range (I had some mid to high 21's), however before I left for the day he said (in broken english) he had a 20.8. I told him it must have been a 28. He said "riiiiiight" while rolling his eyes

. Here is pic so you can see how I have it setup. Sorry for the over expose pic, the lighting in my shop isn't so good on this bench
