Have you thought about moving the fan to the chassis, blowing onto the speedo, house box fan style use a bit of shoe goo to hold it.

Thanks for the tip! I didn't even think to line up the holes with the other one (the old plastic one) because it is in fact an Associated part. It is just the ReRe Worlds brace. That should fit my RC10 CE though, I would think! I don't think my chassis is bent, but maybe it got a little tweaked somewhere down the line. If anything I would think it would have gotten tweaked the other way though, so the the brace would be pulling top of stealth trans and shock tower together, not apart. It was only probably 1mm off I would say, maybe 0.75 or 0.5mm even.

I should hang that old tower on my wall.. I don't even know if the guy who made it is still alive, that was in 1999 and he was old and had health problems back then.

Thanks for idea! No I hadn't thought of that! Hmmm.. maybe that will work. I guess it probably wouldn't work quite as well as sitting right on top of heatsink, but it might work just well enough, especially with the vent hole cut in chassis right there. I will definitely try that before I start cutting my nice new body up though.

Nice stuff... I wish I had noticed that stuff before I bought the rere worlds shock tower braces.. I like the weave on that carbon, and they have 3mm thick version (although they are quite a bit more expensive). I got both of the rere worlds shock towers for about $20 no shipping/tax so that was a good deal either way.

or you could rebuild the entire car using your old parts and hang that on the wall?!!

Seems like all I do is take it apart and put it back together... LOL

Installed Lunsford Titanium turnbuckles..


Ended up having to use regular ball cups on inside turn buckles up front to avoid interference of camber link and tie-rod end with heavier duty Lunsford ball cups.











Went back to bigger servo saver and trying the servo link on the inside of servo saver..
Just cannot run a straight link though.








Barely clears, but it does clear.


This short link was almost too big..


The clearance was tight even on the stock ball cups..


Suspension compressed..

Hopefully this is last time taking apart front end. Will be taking rear hubs back apart one more time to install new ones with un-flanged bearings though.



Next is to build threaded body shocks. I'm going to try those RPM Two Stage damping shock pistons.. just delivered, so I can start now..

So I thought the Traxxas heatsink looked a little boring so I worked on it with a file and some sandpaper for a while..








just fits perfect.. no room on either side, at all.


As far as the Integy heatsink goes... it is a little too wide. I got the 7 bladed one but I think I should have bought the 6 bladed one or even 5 bladed one.

Many ways it can go on there though..

A couple mm too wide like this, but could work.

seems like it mightbe a little out in the open and vulnerable like that though..







And the only way it sits completely flush on the motor is at this exact angle..

but it is about 1mm hanging off the motor still







I kind of like the looks of it parallel and even with the rear plate like this, but it doesn't sit flush at this angle...





Looks like I just need to get a slightly thinner Integy one, which they do make, or maybe just use the Traxxas heatsink.

I didn't check what would happen with smaller spur gear or larger pinion, or both... So that may make both of them not fit anymore, not sure yet.

Well still freezing so I haven't painted body yet..

Got my solder station out and going to solder XT60 connector to ESC today or tomorrow, and finally build shocks and install them soon..

but...

This just came back in stock at HobbyKing USA warehouse so I ordered it!

That'll probably help the speed and handling of this RC10 more than anything. I can't wait to see how it runs with a gyro.

So that should be fun! Especially for FPV..

I'm sure it isn't as nice as Spektrum's Gyro Rx/ Tx combo... but much cheaper.

Besides the messed up Rx case, the radio is impressive especially for the money. Amazing amount of features and looks like it's decent quality besides the defective Rx case. That's just bad luck though. Waiting on RMA but I might just try to fix it with some CA. I'll probably mount it in a waterproof box or waterproof the Rx itself anyways.
