I've experienced the same with flanged beaings in front 2wd wheels. Makes you wonder wether the flange is press-fitted on a stock bearing...

New ESC fitted and tested and running well , it's just a hobby king 120amp x car ESC but it's all I need .
I also cut a little more out of the tub where the chain was touching so I then finally got to re test it and it's all working well yay !

That is one of the most fantastic ideas and build results i have ever seen. I want to do 1 as well. Probably will not,, but its a must have on the wish list!

Thanks , it's been an interesting challenge to build , I've never done an RC car mod like this before , the closest thing would have been my extremely modded Hot Shot 30 years ago .

Another test run today , everything went really well till one of the rear trailing arm hinge pins backed out and it dropped a rear dog bone .......never to be seen again , at least it was a failure of the stock rear suspension not my redesigned parts .I've ordered a set of the UJ rear shafts and locktighted the rear suspension all over . The shame was that it was running so well and for only 5 min but it ran beutifully , fortunately I had another car to bash the frustration out on !

sorry to hear :(

a good old-school mitigation strategy to lost dogbones is to loosely attach them to a "fixed" part of the car with one or two bright-colored tie-wrap that don't hinder the suspension / rotation. best case, they remain attached to the car in case of failure. Worst case, they fall, but the colored zip-tie helps to find them again...

Nice tip thanks , while waiting for the new UJ upgrade shafts I took one of the first shafts that I'd extended for the front and shortened it again , so she was up and running for an outing on Saturday with some friends , we went to a real car breaker of a mountain bike/bmx track in the woods nearby , I only intended to do some light driving to test it and show my friends but ..... My twin hammers broke after only 5 min so it got a more extensive road test than expected and she took it in stride ! I did manage to break the plastic roll cage on the body but that's a standard kit part so I'm pretty pleased :D

Yup, we had a variation on this: hot pink painted dogbones. Still got a pair given to me; from an rc10t

Ha- yes, this too! Combine both techniques and you'll never buy a spare bone again
