I would've loved to have used it, but it stuck out a little too far from the body.

Great job! More importantly that first pic brought to mind the Bugs Bunny cartoon with Gossamer and the mad scientist! "Cummmm Baaack heeeerre rabb-itt!" Coincidence that it's a VW?? I think not.

Thanks,
I'm glad that it's finally done.
I got lucky on the motor, most of it was just spare parts. It's not quite a perfect 10th scale replica, but I can live with it.
Now I can finish up a couple other projects..

Thanks,
I was just lucky that a lot of odd (mostly) spare parts seemed to work well together.
I probably added a few more
new parts that I had originally planned, (front bumper, wheels, tires, body) but that's the nature of the hobby I guess...
I might have a little vision as to how I'd
like a project to turn out..but, it's the
patience part I have trouble with...

But hey,..I finally found a good use for a crappy Kyosho Kelron chassis....
Just a little more fine tuning..

AWESOME!
Team CRP comes through again..super fast shipping too!
My fabricated Ultima/Aluminum tubing axles failed the moment I hit the throttle at the beach..the last photo showing the LR tire throwing a rooster was from the diff unloading.
I can't wait to floor this thing the next time it's in sand!
If anyone has a ton of spare parts and wants to build one of their own, the axles are from Tamiya's Hummer/Mustang series: (45mm)...all steel, perfect fit with Triumph/Ultima/Dual Sport rear suspension... & shiny too!
