I had a Bruiser and traded it for a complete Maxima plus a heap of other PB spares. It was then onsold for almost $1000aud by its new owner. These trucks 'used' to be worth big coin once upon a time.

I'm guessing the word is out on Tamiya re-re'ing the Bruiser...the market on old ones will bottom out as all the collectors who paid so much for them scramble to sell them as they're no longer an investment.

Yeah, same here. These re-re are far more than I thought they would be. Tamiya are obviously keen to maintain the "prestige" branding of the Bruiser. Not sure it's worth that money though...

Yup, I've seen a whole load of built bruisers listed on Ebay in the last few days.

I could buy a REAL 'Yota and make it into a trail rig and have a lot more fun for a lot less than that price.
Really though, what would possibly make these things and some of the other re-re's have such a high pricetag? Insane.

you'd think with the amount of engineering that went into that truck, and the price tag it's gonna have, they could've used something other than rubber bands to secure the battery.

My prediction: Original Bruiser prices will drop in the coming months. Reason being is the market will be flooded with idiots offloading their originals thinking they're no longer valuable. The market will be totally flooded. After all the excitement of the re-re and big sell off dies down, prices will rebound to where they were a month ago. The thing is, this new Bruiser is very different from the old Bruiser. All the key components are different, axles, tranny (with plastic gears!) body, chassis, etc. I believe the old trucks will retain their value, especially given the fact that the new trucks are going to cost $800 and not be the classic Bruiser. This truck is more a tribute than a re-re. I know my original Mountaineer is going nowhere.
