We never had video games, ever! A grade school friend had an Atari that we'd play Asteroids on whenever we'd get together. My high school crowd had Commodore and Commodore II computers, when I started driving to school, it was always to his house afterward for a few hours of whatever games he could get his hands on. My favorite was Lode Runner, which allowed you to build your own levels in addition to the ones provided by the game.Charlie don't surf wrote: ↑Mon Jun 16, 2025 6:42 pm Man...we only played video games when you couldn't be outside!
It was the late 90's when I bought my first console, '98-ish IIRC. Started with an SNES for a specific game, then an N-64, then a friend bought me the original Xbox for Christmas when Halo was released. What really sucks is there is literally ONE game per console that I've ever liked, and of course, with each new release of a game title, i.e. Halo, Halo 3, Halo Reach, Halo 4, etc., requires a new console and new consoles don't play old games, at least the never used to.
Heck Every once in a while Costco will get an old school game cabinet that's loaded with all the old favorites, but, yep, you guessed it, maybe one or two titles that I'd be mildly interested in.
