my family were all in the masonry biz when i was growing up, i know all about dumping a bag of masonry in a mixer and just getting covered with it.

never hurt my eyes, but later on in my life the continued exposure to the really fine silica particles gave me silicosis, which is basically scar tissue that slowly grows around the embedded particles stuck in the lungs... it was actually called masons disease back in the day.

Thanks for all the kind words and the stories everyone. I'm really suprised how quickly my eye has healed compared to how bad it hurt on Saturday. I was able to go back to work yesterday and my eye feels almost back to normal, the sun doesn't bother me near as much now. My eye almost looks normal again, on Sunday morning it was swollen shut, it looked like someone punched me in the face.

I'm happy I can go race this weekend, I kept gettin "that look" from my wife when I told her I was going. But it's a series race with a track somewhat close to here so I feel I need to support their track since a lot of them came down for ours even though it rained about 2 inches the day before and drizzled all morning.
