Updated pics of the Ultima Pro..
The rear wheels are actually for the RC10, but I got a set of the Hot Trick Ultima to RC10 rear axles to accomodate these wheels. Added the Kyosho Stock 34 deg motor and cleaned her up a little.

Updated pics of the Pro XL..
Swapped out the stock tranny with a new A&L Lethal weapon w/slipper. Kyosho LeMans super pro Hi torque mod motor bolted to it.
Other than that, just a little cleanup as well.

Did you fabricate the transmission brace or does that come in the transmission kit? It's sweet

It comes with the A&L kit
Nice new chassis And the yellow wheels fit better with the A&L too.
Chromies are nice on a shelfer but I like the race-oriented style better for a car of this level.

Has anybody here tried to fit a Turbo Optima body on an Ultima?
Will it work?
Still looking for a suitable shell for the Ultima Pro. (the one with the aluminum chassis)

Very nice to see this Ultima familly. I love the pro XL with this new tranny.

I just picked up an Ultima tonight and I'm hoping to build a Joel Johnson car as well. Where are you getting the references?

Last time I messaged Daryl, he still had a bunch of Ultima trailing arm conversions too.

Marwan.......
Ok, I was intending on taking the body that was included with my Ultima Pro XL (it had been painted and decalled in white with green and yellow decals) and swapping it to the Pro. A more proper fit as far as the boxart goes. Well, the aluminum Pro chassis is about 3/8" shorter than the XL version, so that would make the cutouts in the body way off....
So I will leave it on the XL and be done with it. I still would like a non Ultima body for the aluminum Pro. If Marwan made the XL decals I would go that route, but he hasn't made them yet.

Has anybody found a decent fix to the Turbo Ultima wheel chrome?
The wheels I have on my Turbo are in excellent shape (no rash). There are some blemishes in the finish though. I don't mind painting the wheels, but am hoping somebody may have found a particular type of paint to best imitate the factory finish. Many of the "chrome" paints end up looking more like silver than chrome...
BTW, simple green WILL remove the finish on these wheels. FYI
