So the attraction is primarily (i) in the fact that you're going hell-for-leather (i.e. at higher speeds than you could achieve on non-oval tracks) and (ii) that there's a bit of argy-bargy between the cars/drivers? I can see that...., although still nice to have some undulating bending roads to throw your car around (like we have here in the UK :D ). Different type of driving though, and I can appreciate the merits to both if my understanding of oval racing is correct.
