Thanks for the comments guys. It has been a great time. It is great to involve the young ones and make my passion for R/C part of their life. I am thinking of restoring a 10T for my daughter now.
I think we are going to go to a parking lot this week.
So, we replace the arm and painted a new body. My kid wanted all the colors of the rainbow on the car, and he wanted fire so I showed him all the colors I had on my paint box and he pickets these.
This is the result.

Man I love seeing that, my boy is just turned 2 and I cant tell you how much he loves these cars. Right now hes got couple of cheapo stuff and has a blast but always wants to get his hands on dads RC's. Looks like I will have to go the ebay route and pick up a beater on the bay for christmas. Thats what I call father knows best, A++ on the video!

LOL…. Thanks a lot burnsmonkey, my sons loves it and loves sitting and passing me the tools. He got a tyco car from Santa to beat up and now we go to the theater parking lot to drive the RC10 (until he gets it a bit more). I still have some junk parts that I cleaned and put them all on in a box with some chassis parts and screw and he loves playing with it.
I am thinking In a couple more years we might get into the stadium trucks and I’ll get 2. The problem is I have a daughter and she is 4 and today she told me she wants a car of her own so that is probable the next step.
It is a lot of fun but it can get expensive, especially when the street curbs are invisible to them.

Yea I know the feeling I have a 4yr old daughter myself and whatever he does and plays with she wants to do it also and vice versa! We can always look on the bay or craigs for junkers as long as they have fun doing it. Got to admit though seeing the look in their eyes when squeeze that trigger makes it all worth it.
The curb incident gave me an idea, buy a-arms in bulk.

looks like you got your hands full
you might want to add some 10T tires and maybe a truck conversion
I recently made a couple of rc10Ts for my brother's kids, which has a little bit more cushion in the tires and more ground clearance. so far the only complaint is that they are too fast for indoors, no duh, but it's winter.

LOL…. Yep.
I saw your thread on the truck, very cool of you. I am thinking I might do the truck tires on it and go with silver can motor (instead of the sport tuned RS-540 motor).

Thanks! I lived vicariously through them since those were the first true 10Ts I had my hands on, with the exception of my beach buggy

Anything for an excuse to build another vintage RC10 of any sorts...I wish my brother had more kids, or at least convince my wife to have some of our own.
At least the truck tires are a fairly easy compromise.

Vice, Is that a blue zip tie you used to take backlash out of the servo saver? Does it work well? I've been looking for the best way to do this without using CA glue.... my RC10 CE is my next project...
Great story and build by the way.
