For me it's kind of a common sense/ courtesy thing. If I've known ya for a while then I'm probably gonna be ok with it. If I just started talking to ya and you jump in and ask then I'll decline. With the exception of younger kids, most people should have the proper manners not to ask right away. It's just not cool.
