i only had to go back 12 pages to find this one.

alright, so i don't have much to add on this build-up, other than the fact that the direction has changed. i was planning on just using stock associated bits and pieces to complete it. but since last year, with help from some members on here over the last year or so, and some hobby shop finds, it looks like this thing is gonna get rpm'd out.

so the back will go something like this (old is new type of setup):

rpm bulkhead (new)
rpm trans (when i get it / new)
rpm gear cover (new)
rpm arm mounts (when i get them from brian - used i think)
rpm worlds arms (new)
rpm worlds hub carriers (used)
atlas rear cf worlds tower and trans brace (new)
b44 rear cvds (when i get them / new)
b4 jconcept rulux wheels

now on the front, i'm doing something a little different. mainly because i don't have any more paint to spray a truck nose plate:

rpm one piece front bulkhead (new)
rpm steering bellcrank (when i get it from brian / new)
rpm "truck" front arms (new)
losi lxt castor blocks (same as the ones in the rpm steering enhancement kits / used)
rpm steering knuckles
atlas cf .89 front tower
b4 jconcepts rulux wheels

then misc. rpm stuff like spring cups, servo mounts, ball cups maybe a shorty front bumper, and if i can bring myself to drill holes in the chassis since it's already painted, and rpm battery box. oh, and everything that is white will be dyed black. for shocks, i'll end up using threaded associated shock (.89's/1.32)
now the truck arms on the front will work for a shelf car. not so well for a runner, especially with the b4 rims. the rims hit the front of the arms when turning and the suspension is compressed, so steering would have to limited so that wouldn't happen. so like i said, not ideal for a runner. the front end will be slightly wider (not much) than my "old is new" cars using the gt wide axles and b4 wheels. so, extra wheel spacers on the back will be needed to widen that up a bit. i know i could just use the rpm team car arms on the front, but i want the "wide arm" look.

so there's my yearly update.

while i was dying parts black for another build last week, i figured i might as well get some of this stuff done, too.
while putting the front end togther, i figured out the the lxt castor blocks along with the rpm knuckles was not going to work. so i had to ditch them for standard rc10 blocks.

still trying to convince myself that i want to drill holes in the chassis to mount an rpm battery box. i wish i'd have known the direction this build was gonna go before i painted it, but..........

If your vehicle is painted Chromalusion and you get into an accident is it true that you need to repaint the entire vehicle?

no, you can treat it just like any other tri-stage paint job (base, mid coat, clear), but it is quite a bit harder. especially if you weren't the one that originally painted the vehicle.

Agreed, I have a couple dings in my truck now, I wanted to get some of the straightened up. Lets just say I walked from the body/paint shop with my head hung low.

The reason I asked is because the previous owner of my truck said it was painted Chromalusion. He got into an accident and was told that you can't match it so the entire truck would have to be painted. Since that would be way too expensive he got the truck repainted Galaxy Silver.

Right now I have a 1/10-1/8 scale T-Bucket body painted in some sort of flip flop paint. I don't know if it came from a rattle can or not but looks good. Though I think I'd rather have it flat black.

Can't wait to see this one finished!

They had a paint like that from Duplicolor I believe, you can find it at Pepboys, or Autozone, I used to use it for base coats on Motorcycle helmets and it worked out awesome.

Spaz Stix makes a flip flop paint in like 4 or 5 different combos of color flips. Always wanted to try it but just couldn't validate the price of it. Like the 1:1 paints its expensive...especially if you aren't a pro at it

The T-Bucket body I have is green and purple kind of like the Chromalusion. I'd take a picture but its currently covered in a layer of dust.

Yeah, by the way here too scr8p...good lookin build . I like the 'darkness' of it. Gonna look mean when its done. Maybe some Masami pink wheels would set off the color of the chassis
