Right on....
While MRP's cars weren't all that great, they made some nice stuff, especially some of their bodies....
I'm still trying to track down a High Roller and Shotgun.

This car is not one of my favorites but it is nicely designed although its functionality is not that great .
It is great to look at.

It is next on my list to teardown/clean/rebuild.

Looks like a good option. I am going to hold out for a while longer for the original.

I wonder what date these cars were released therefore what cars this design was based to compete against? The chassis design does look very basic but so too were the SRB buggies which may have been the competition for these way back then.
I dont know about performance but if the box art has anything to say about it then it certainly looked damn fast.......LOL!

Thank you, I was lucky enough to get one on the Bay. It needs some work but looks like a great candidate.
Now I just need some decals... Anyone????

These were released not long after the RC10, if I remember right. Not much of a threat though...haha!

Some progress pics,
It is time to clean this guy up. This car is in very good shape. The only thing is that someone cut part of the front arms , where the sway bars would mount, not sure why. I also notice I am missing the front bumper.









The inside of the trany look like new.

This project was one I was thinking would be very time consuming in the hunt for new parts but thank to Mr. old_rc_lover it was one of the lest time consuming project in my collection. But I do need a wing a wing mount (I guess the search is not over).
After these parts are on The car will look and feel like new, or close .



I also found this segment on RCCA from 1987.

I ruined the finish in my shocks.

This sucks A$$... ok, I am cleaning the shocks to rebuild them so I can start building this car up. I put them in a small container and sprayed some Simple Green on them with some water. I did this 2 times and after that I wash them up with soup and water and this happened. I am going to cry know.
They kind of look like they are painted instead of anodized. THIS SUCKS. I did not know Simple Green could remove anodized. This ano is from ’85-’86 and it makes me sad that this ruined a perfectly good original car from back then.

My current option is to strip it and make them natural aluminum (I am not into the chrome). The spring collars are OK in black, it was only the shock parts that got bust.

Give me your opinions and suggestions on this please.

well, the damage has already been done. so, it really doesn't matter what you do them now. this has already happened to me, so i know how you feel. but rc10 shock bodies are easier to find...........

i would just strip them, and scuff over them with a fine scotch-brite pad or some steel wool. assemble them, and put them back on the car. at some point in time you decide to have some other parts ano'd black, send them along to be redone.

i think it would look better with natural shocks, to be honest.
