bugle: i have the same one you got there and was plan to use it to my Werks project. That's a good idea converting it to 2.4ghz instead.

Currently running the DIY conversion kit in my Futaba 2PL for my modern cars, works well.

Thanks for the info mate! that is damn cheap almost half the price of the current 2.4ghz in the market.

The good thing there my Vintage Futaba PCM will not collect dust anymore, for he will turn to a much better use (back to the future '2.4ghz' )

What size are the diff balls on the 870c? and is there a modern car that uses the same size? What size were the tamiya diff balls?

sorry roger, I don't remember the details; only remeber getting really frustrated with the growing number of parts I was buying without getting where I wanted

Small update, i'm going to go with the later offset rims because they're easier to find in 2.2". So I was either going to have to make longer rear arms, use 91 works arms or find something else. Figured B44/B4 arms were about the right shape if they were reversed, after removing alot of material from the arms at the inner pivot points i've got some super flexible arms which seem to be exactly the right length. They might break easier than they would in a B44, but atleast I won't break something expensive instead.
I just need to ream out the outer pivot hole in the arm, B3 outer hinge pins will be required for the extra length, and a bunch of spacers to hold the hub carrier in the right place.

I've also made the new rear bulkhead top, haven't made a new shock tower to suit though.

Cool i'll check em out monday? Bring the car you wanna adapt them to aswell so we can figure out the offset required on the adaptors

I kept the stock arms on my 870C but used optima mid axle carriers on the rear to compensate for the small offset of the later wheels.
It works very well, but don't forget you need longer U-J's

Ive had Thomas 'adjust' the length of some of my drive shafts by cutting them and either shortening them or lengthening them with steel tubes' These are glued and pressed into place and work very well thanks Mr Bugle. Im sure you'l have the same kind of thing on this Yoke'.

If you get stuck I might have some of the 91 arms left over. Let me know either way.

How many of those pink rims have you got? Are these 2.1?

I've got some 91 driveshafts, they don't look like they have alot of life left in them though. I'll probably just make some CVD's. Much better especially on the front.

Only got 1 set of pink rims they seem to be the 'ROAR' ones they measure 2.14", so the latest tyres are a bit loose on them

Futaba also has a 2.4Ghz module that works. I will try and post their reply, the old 1024 Magnum is all I run even now.

The price of the Futaba ones hurt though

Thomas I have 2 sets of the white disc type Yokomo rims ready for you. The tires were badly perished so Ive stripped them, soaked the rims in bleach and they've cleaned up really nicely. While they might not be the original rims they would make for a very cool mod in my opinion.

Got the drivetrain almost finished, have to pin the pulleys to the layshaft, mill some flats for the B4 outer slipper plate, and make some sides for the exposed side of each pulley..

There was only just enough room to fit the 6mm belt pulleys in the rear, front was easy.

Also I bought a Corona 2.4GHz module and it's working in the Futaba radio perfectly, just have to switch it into PPM mode..

Good work Thomas. Have you got the little belt fence for the side of the diff pulleys? Mine was missing these when I first tried running it and the belts would fall off. Did you machine those diff pulleys yourself?
