Sooooooooooo  I managed to take some (crappy) pictures yesterday evening, a bit in a rush so there's not really good, but I first wanted to show the mechanic on which this little beast relies. Nothing really special, it's more or less a CAT transmission design with the motor on the rear (still can't figure out why they went this route as the Maxima and the Mustang already had a proven design with the mid motor and only one belt instead of 3 on the ACE).

The car is really complete, with only the rear sway bar missing, which is really exceptional. Its condition is close to new built and the car must have been run a few times before being totally restored. A-arms have no marks and the steering assembly together with the servo mounts are new. Some steel parts are a little rusty, but that is not a real problem.

Both diffs are ball-raced where the Mustang and the Maxima (correct me if I'm wrong) had geared diffs.

The CVD's are pure work of art, though they seem a bit heavy, and look bullet proof. The front ones are even equipped with a one-way bearing. No slipper here nor two-speed unit. The front and rear side plates are also very nice piece of engineering design, they're all totally machined and while it helps reducing the overall weight, it also acts as a cooling device for the motor.

Well, enough bla bla, let's have a look a the naked chassis first (not that there's anything wrong with that)!

Im very glad one of this forum's most prominant members ended up with this beauty. I would have liked it but the money was more than I could afford right now.
So when are you going to take it to the race track to proove what an under dog this gem is? LOL! (joking) :D    green with envy.

Jason, it was obviously a lot of money for me too, but I still think it was a good deal (not that overpriced) as I don't think there is a lot of these left in such a superb condition. On top, PB didn't produce them for a long time and I still can count the ones I've seen so far on one hand...

I will post pics with the body (painted just like in the manual), MINT wheels and tires and undertray on soon (probably this weekend). Also got the original box with it and manual which I will try to scan and post here (but that will have to wait).

Uzzi, thanks for the linky, but the shell is already decalled and looks awesome. I might get one in the future though...

That is truly one of the nicest examples I have ever seen, I am glad that someone that will treasure it will be having it in their collection. Even though I would never admit it, I did/do have a bit of a soft spot for the PB's.

Great stuff mate.

Cheers

Darryn

This would have to be the very best example of an ACE that Ive seen anywhere on the net. Are there many others out there?

I own a NIB Maxima.
