i've never really understood or felt comfortable with the concept of credit and carrying debt unless its a house loan or something.

Stay FAR away from those rigs like in that Ebay auction...it looks like a Komodo. Basically a hodgepodge of chinese knockoffs of RC4WD parts....

Depending on whether you like the scale stuff or the comp stuff, Axial has kits of each. And plenty of aftermarket support.

I build crawlers....mostly scalers.

Scratchbuilt chassis, Axial axles and trans, 4 link front suspension with coils, leaf spring rears, 45t motor running on 3S.
I no longer have this rig....sold it to a guy in Austrailia as a bare chassis. :D

halgar and hoopty beat me to it.

if you want to get a scaler my i suggest a http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/products_id/160751/n/Axial-SCX10-Trail-Honcho-1-10th-4WD-Electric-Rock-Crawler-Kit?utm_source=Google-Base&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Product-Feeds

they seam to be the rage as of the moment, and seam to be a good rig. i have yet to come up with the fund to get on as of yet , most of my money is still going to my FatBoy project http://www.scale4x4rc.org/forums/showthread.php?t=40360

I'm thinking about selling off a couple excess vintage cars and getting a crawler as they look fun and wouldn't just be collecting dust.
I like to build, so am leaning towards an axial as most of the others I have come across are RTR.
One question on axles, does anyone have any strong feelings eigher way on the worm-gear type axles?
They seem like an interesting idea, but there are very few that use them(only losi and one set I saw on rc4wd)
