To fit other wheels you usually do have to replace the rear axles.
I use the HPI adaptors to fit hex drive wheels to mine, any modern hex drive wheels will fit.

Yes, the old HPI Super Star wheels. HPI still make a variation of them for their Super Size cars, but they have less offset so the track will be narrower.

That's what I'm trying to accomplish like what Toymkr73 had mentioned; trying to use new sets of wheels and tires without changing the axles...Seems like I have to forego the yellow dish wheels if I'm not prepare to change to B2/B3's axels, hubs etc.

Yeah I was thinking of just having the new wheels and tires on when I was running it, but it does not seem really viable , so my solution is get another rc10 and change the rear axles and use that car for the real running. Go with a vintage look maybe even the older short arms ( just like the look better) and a protech body,
should I consider any gearing change if I go with the larger wheels over the originals?

Gearing should be the same as the 2.2" wheels run lower profile tyres and the overall diameter is roughly the same as 2" wheels.

Really envy you as you are able to get another RC10. I've tried bidding for a few times on severals but never wins!!!! Just my luck i think...

I never luck out on the BINs. I guess all the good ones are gone before I get there. Now I know were they are all going. Right Ferretti

The HPI hex drives I use fit the 1/4" original axles, you don't need to change to B2 axles. You can then fit any wheels from Kyosho, Tamiya or HPI. To fit the matching wheels on the front just use the front wheel adapters from HPI which lets you use the standard RC10 bearings in metric wheels.
