Hey, I'm with you scr8p...I wasn't even mentioned in there

...he must really be slippin'!

Reg said he'd hurt my children if I didn't start posting relevant things, otherwise I'd have said to tell the guy to GFH, and that klavy would be along soon to put a pair of pink undies on him and take pictures for the internet. After which he'd would be stuffed in the trunk until the tow truck arrived to take him home.
Personally, I sell all my vehicles with a bumper to bumper guarantee. Once yer butt is between the bumpers, I guarantee it's yours!

Personally I think all used cars are to be considered as-is but a 20+ year old car should be a no brainer

The first car I ever bought with my own Money was a 66 Fairlane. two weeks later the head gasket blew. So did I call the guy I bought it off of (who said the motor was perfect) ? nope, I grabbed my tool box and had at it

Best thing you can do for this guy is give him the # to a good mechanic.

IF you didn't make up some kind of bill of sale with 'as is' on it you might wanna start a different plan of attack though.
Good luck

Always make out a "sold as is" document that both the buyer and seller get a signed copy of. I even do that on newer cars. you just never know whats going to happen. If you did this, and I don't know the laws of the state you live in, you should be GTG. How did the guy pay for the car? You don't have an uncashed check do you? If so cash it NOW!

Guy paid me good ol cash. We made up a bill of sale but did not state "as is". I figured my ad stating that should of been all they needed.

If you haven't deleted the ad yet, print it out and keep it with the bill of sale just in case.

I think in Massachusetts you need to refund the buyer the purchase price, but that is only if the purchase price is over $1,000.00.

Really? So everything you sell in MA has to have a warranty? That's crazy.
I don't think we even need a title in NH for vehicles over 10 years old. Then again, we don't have to have auto insurance either unless you have a lien on your vehicle. Live free or die.

We also have lift laws that prevent my Jeep CJ-7 from having anything over a 33" tire... Even that is pushing it here.

I would tell him you will buy it back at 1/2 price since he blew the motor

you know its sad were our country is. with everyone trying to get over on someone. I sold a 69 Fairlane 500 last summer on Ebay and the guy tried to exstort 1000.00 of his money back. AS is, is as is! my guy turned me into Ebay and he got in trouble he had done this to several people. their are so many people just trying to get over on someone today its sick. just tell him to GTF!
