Old thread I know but this is good info. I bought a Marui car, was supposed to be a Ninja but is in fact a Coor's/Melling Stock car. The tires are heavily glued to the rims of course. 
I was going to toss them in the acetone but luckily the car came with two or three broken rims that i would have thrown away rather than ship so I threw the worst of the lot in the acetone bath to see what would happen. The wheel turned to goo... 
So, boiling or baking may be the way to do Marui wheels. I can't for sure say this extends to other Marui models but it makes sense.
