FlyinGN wrote:very nice. Love how ya make the servo wires wound tightly.. How do you do that. Wrap around a small tube and pull out the tube?
ya, i use 3/32" yellow handled allen wrench. just spool it up, hold it there for a little bit, and let go. obviously, anything round will work, but i've just always used that for some reason.

after i've wrapped my servo wires on a rod i twist it real tight and then run a lighter flame on the wire and twist some more. they get real good and coiled up that way, just be sure to keep the flame 'wrapped' around the wire or it will discolor it with a burnt lookin stain...
anyhoo, sweet collection J.
...hows the ultra molded?

thanks guys.
hoopty - well, the ultra molded car will be on hold until i can find the set of shocks i want for it. tower hasn't had them for months now, and i haven't found them anywhere else. i also got to get a set of cvd's, some lunsford tie rods, and some bearings, and it'll be pretty close to finished. oh ya, and i still need a pr. of white rpm spring cups and shock rod ends.

Scr8p,
Super sweet collection of cars there. Wish my corral looked like that.
I have a question for you.
Your Hansley replica has a Novak with a black stripe around it. Did those ship that way or did it come with the tape and you had to put it on? Around what years did they do this? Here is why I ask:
I got it for $30 on eBay. It has no numbers on it and is smaller than my 1X. I want to know more about it but can't find anything. It works and appears to have never been mounted.
I'm thinking of putting it on my A&L build up.
Is your like this or is it a different model? Know anything about this one?
Sorry to bother you this and fill your thread with my junk but I saw yours and thought you may be able to help.
Again, that is a really nice collection you got there.

Tad - as far as i know, they had the tape on them from the factory. i've never seen old ones without it.

Yeah, I have burnt that page up already and nothing. The guy who sold it was told this was the second ESC ever made by Novak. All the ESCs on the Novak site have either a name or a number. I don't know if he meant that was literally the second one ever made or what. I doubt that big time but it does intrigue me. I think I will send Novak pics and see if they have any info on it.
Thanks for letting me hijack your attention and thread for a minute.

well, the one you have has an adjustable brake pod. and i, like you, can't find anything in that novak timeline about it. i wonder if it's a 1 or 4, but since it has that pod where the number would go, they left it off? i'm just guessing there. mine has the futaba g-plug also, but the on/off switch is different.
these are the electronics that are in the car..................
