Reasonable anodising should be easy enough to find. I have stuff done all the time. The going rates in my area are $60 for a tree. A "tree" is a rack of clips (about 3 feet long) that hold parts during the various anodising processes. There are about 30 clips on a tree. I can usually get 2-3 cars worth of parts on a tree. Works out to about $20-$30 per car. Totally worth doing in my book. Keep shopping. -Jeff

Got anything going soon? Still working on it with new era. There ie a place 2 miles from me, but they want 125. Trying to get new era to get them down...

I have helped out members on this site before, and have no qualms about doing it again. I don't have anything ready at the moment, but do have plans for an RC10 run in the near future. I can drop you a line when I am ready (a few weeks) and we can decide on a color. -Jeff

How did you strip this one coastie? I just picked up another pan for my 10T and may strip the beat one and build a cool runner.

I used Greased Lightning in a painter's bucket. Go to Home Depot or any other hardware store and get the yellow bottle:

Get a tray or bucket that is shaped the right size for the pan to be totally submersed in the Greased Lightning. Put the pan in the Greased Lightning for 15 minutes. The liquid will bubble around and on the pan (kind of cool actually). After 15 minutes, remove the pan and scrub with a course green pad. 3M makes a few different "grits" of these. I bought a set of really course ones, as well as a set of medium ones.

What I did was scrub the pan over a 5 gallon bucket of fresh water, dipping it occasionally as I scrubbed into the fresh water. Repeat as many times as necessary.

You have to do it all as the Greased Lighting is still fresh. I found that it can not be re-used the next day for the same task.

I also found an item we used to use on the boat's aluminum in the Coast Guard works great on small parts. I can't remember the name of it, but this is somewhat the same thing:

The stuff I used was brush on., then rinse off. I brushed on, continuing to brush it on every 10 minutes, then scrubbed with medium course green pad while dipping in the water.

LMK! I would be interested in that. In fact, I am going to stop this build until I can get a better nose plate and have the whole thing anodized.

This is being turned into a truck instead. I am dumping the de-anodized B stamp on the bay and sourcing parts for a truck build. I have a feeling I am going to be selling a lot of parts now.

Anywho, looking for a white RC10t front bulkhead.....

This project is pretty much on the back burner right now. I'm not sure I want to build it, I want to get into a SC truck to bomb around with, something new. Gah, I don't know. I need a black nose piece to really get started, but I already have 3 really nice builds. Meh. I'm at a crossroad....

got bored tonight and have decided to procede. Started putting it together, but waiting for blue screw & nut kits to arrive (damn you all for introducing me to fastener express), as well as a black noseplate. Got a lead on one.

Ordered a couple of parts tonight, and away we go.....
