Great find! I never fail to be amazed by the fact that 24 years ago these buggies cost much more relative to salaries than today, yet there must have been hundreds (thousands?) of people who splashed out on RC cars and never used them.
I would guess a CAT SWB would have been a rare, specialized piece of racing exotica back when it was available new in the 1980's. Back then you had to find out about RC racing (a niche hobby) by buying a magazine, going to a modelshop or a club. It wasn't like today where you browse the web one evening see something that takes your fancy, press a few buttons, Hey Presto! new kit turns up on your doorstep Monday...... but by then you've decided you want to try kite boarding instead and hide it away in the shed
