Fibre-Lyte still do all these parts, so just look on their website and buy buy buy. The actual weave is better than the kits spec so youll get a stronger chassis that can take a beating. Worth every penny. I designed the first tub chassis for the Lazer ZX and used it for ten years with zero tape on the underneath and the chassis still looked good considering I used it three times a week. You wont be sorry with them.

Got a little work done on the chassis. Drilling the nose piece ended up being a pretty easy job. I was a little worried about how the weave would react to a countersink bit but that wasn't an issue. So far it looks like everything is straight and bolting together well.

This project will make any of mine a mere puny....

Word of advice with the holes you have drilled. Take out the screws and put some glue around the areas that you have countersunk, only enough to cover the cut that you have made. When dried then screw all together again This strengthens it as without you may get a split if your racing it.

I wanted to ask about your counter sink you used, do you have any information. I had used a couple from Snap-on, and have managed to mangle a few. Its been hit or miss, now I have switched to a TiNi Bosch Countersink.

You have to use a real countersink, for metal. One designed for use on wood, or the typical stuff you would find at home depot or lowes, doesn't stand a chance......

mcmaster-carr carries them, any industrial supply house, grainger, msc, fastenal, etc etc.

Carbide right?

carbide is recommended if doing full speed machining operations with carbon fiber.....hss or any other standard coated part would work fine for the small number of holes you would expect to do by hand.

Just received my Fiber-Lyte parts in the mail today When they say the nose is undrilled they mean completely undrilled. I will need to get the right bits and countersink bits soon. I'm still waiting my storage shipment from my PCS to come in before I can start my build; my MIP 4-10L converted Team Car is in that shipment. I don't have the swank Tecnacraft wheels though Probibly never will with the prices they have been getting for them on ebay recently....

I used a 100 degree carbide single flute countersink and didn't have any issues. That's a good idea about gluing the countersink cut. Should certainly strengthen the holes.

Here is the stealth mocked up with the graphite motor plate. It was either this plate or a litespeed plate but I think this one looks better with the chassis.
