Thanks guys!
Yeah, I'll have to play around with it, but I currently have nothing to play with, so I figure I've got to start somewhere. I'm heading to my local track to check out the racing tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to get a feel for what seems to be working, and work backwards from there.
Also, I'm a bit confused about the various versions of spur gears - If I'm using a stock stealth, what versions of spur gears work (the ones for the GT look similar, but???) Where can you get the right kind if not?
Maybe I should just bite the bullet and make the B4 slipper conversion....

The 2 hole version for the stealth or the standard ones for the diff balls, but 48 pitch work too ( use same two holes ).
The diff ball type:
Associated White 48 Pitch spurs, Kimbrough, Pro-Star, Trinity and Robinson racing spurs all work.
I just have all my old standard gears so I didn't have to go look for any. Ebay may have some or you could switch to the B4 ones, but then you have to buy that type, plus the slipper media.
Check your local hobby shop, they may have a set of the old diff gear type, that are 48 pitch. If anyone happens to have NEW 48 pitch diff gear type (that have the 8 or more holes for diff balls) that I can use for either of my Gold CE's, please let me know. I'd like to buy them for racing the stock stealth.
These are not the type that the shelfer crowd are looking for, those are the same but in 32 pitch.

They will look like this Kimbrough one:
Here is a black Associated one that works too:
I just noticed that Tower still sells them!
LX3099 Associated Precision Spur 48P 81T
LX3102 Associated Precision Spur 48P 87T
LX3104 Associated Precision Spur 48P 85T
LX3106 Associated Precision Spur 48P 83T

most LHS that deal with pan cars (RC10L etc) should have spur gears a-plenty.

I know I used to buy Corally spur's for my Rustler that had a similar diff-ball slipper setup on it. Superior should still carry them, they are very good quality.

Resurrecting another old project thread as I have been wrapping up some long-dormant projects, I've finally gotten my graphite buggy pretty much done. I might try to track down a Protech II for it, as I'd like it to look more original, and have to figure out a motor/electric plan. I was originally going to run it on the local indoor dirt track, but as that closed and the only track nearby is indoor carpet (and based on my driving there with my modern car, I doubt this would survive a day! - the new cars are insanely tough...), I might just put some basic older stuff I have and try to find a place to bash it.
Anyway, I really like the paint scheme, and am pretty psyched how it came out.
