I was gonna say, blue nose brace tubes would be nice... Maybe blue FT turnbuckles as well...

yup, i kinda had the ft tie rods in mind, as long as i can get them in the correct length. it'd be alot easier if they were threaded all the way to the center. i could just buy the long ones and cut them to the length i need. i'm gonna do my best to use them, though.

yup. i actually forgot i had them. i did put a houge bellcrank in it, but then i remembered those a&l parts, so i swapped them. it didn't look right with the black steering parts. i don't really like the black shock caps, neither. i guess i'll have to get some ft blue aluminum ones.

man, the list just keeps growing.

well, my trip to hobbytown was pretty useless, but they did have the blue nose brace tubes. i had to drill and tap a couple of new holes do to the shorter nose. so, off to another shop. :)

the finishing touches

now you just need a set of these tires to complete your theme. ever see one of these blue motor mounts with cooling fins? i think they were made for the ds but...

that motor plate i believe was made by gpm. i'm pretty sure about that. i'll let you know about those tires, though.

i just got back from the lhs with some more blue stuff. stay tuned.

my trip to the second h.s. today was alot more helpful. even though i could find any ft turnbuckles that would work on the car, they did have the blue rpm ball cups, ft aluminum shock bushings, ft shock caps, and these super trick ft battery hold down thumbscrews.

when you say
well, my trip to hobbytown was pretty useless
i know what you mean, the question i get around here is is that on a t-maxx? take a dirt oval terminator in there and they look at you and they start freakin out.

what pissed me off the worst about hobbytown, today anyway, was a guy behind the counter bitching about people coming in to have there car fixed because they couldn't do it themselves. i said to him, what do you expect. you work in a hobby shop that for the most part sells rtr's. you're catering to people who are looking to get into the hobby. of course the average person who buys one isn't gonna be able to repair it themselves. most of the time, they don't even know where to begin. and why is that? because they didn't build it in the first place.

and really, isn't that what he's there for anyway? to help? now, the owner over there knows me, so when i go in, i can just go behind the counter and get the stuff i want myself. i don't need to be waited on. but this kid was getting pissed because customers were taking time away from working on his own car and talking to his buddies. that aggravates me to no extent. 15-16 years ago when i worked in my local hobby shop, i liked when people came in and needed help with something. i'd spend as much time with them as i needed to until they understood what was wrong with there car and how to fix it. or if i was fixing it, i made sure they knew exactly what i was doing and why. how else is that person gonna learn? the whole goal, in my opinion, is to keep people interested in the hobby, and help it grow. not make them feel like they're wasting your time.

man... if i could make the money i do right now working behind the counter at a hobby store i would have the best time ever...

nice rig scr8p, imo i would get nice yellow wheels and black tires on it. that way the a&l steering would match something.

btw both you and asa still cant compete with my stinky pinky... 8)

ya, i had a blast when i was younger working in a hobby shop. and just like you, if i could make the same money i do now, i'd work at one again. my biggest problem, there isn't an awful lot of rc stuff out nowadays that excites me. so, i don't think i'd enjoy it as much as i did.
