I really think it's a Nitro in the movie, and I also think the pictures of the Vette Terrysc. posted are from a replica...
Movie magic. Pretty much every foot step, door slam, engine, or whatever is not the actual sound, but something they put in after the movie is done. How many times have you opened a knife and it made the sound that is in every movie? Same with swords, door handles and every other thing. I find it annoying and not natural.

Also there was no smoke coming out of the 'vette.
You know what mommy always says.. "A nice steady stream of blue smoke at WOT"
At least mine does...

mrlexan wrote:From what I can remember, RCCA did an article on it after the movie came out. From memory, it indeed was a electric car and not nitro. I recall that the first shoot they did with it, Halsey smoked the 1:1 car and beat it down to the bottom of the hill. They told him to slow it down and shot it again. I am sure someone can scan that article and post it. My memory is not that good to tell you the month and year it came out.

The good old days........six gear tranny, seven cell Sanyo nicad, and Jay still had hair! Wonder if this planted the idea for the Dual Sport? Sort of looks like one.

yes that was very impressive to see it pull the front wheels off the ground and on what looked like foam tires too, they must have been gumballs.
