The wheels are from a Traxxas Bullet, The tires are 900027 Carson 2WD All Terrain Tyre, They are from a company in Germany, kinda hard to get in the states.

Suspension is restored. Works much better. Chassie wise I am done. It is even water proofed. So now the long wait for the body begins. I smeared clear silicon all over the speed controller and the servo for the steering, and put the radio in a balloon. From past experiend with my Axial this aught to work well.

The body is a Tamiya Sand scorcher so its the white plastic like a model kit. So I can sand and play with it to make it scale. Cant wait to trail ride it and make some cool videos.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again here:

I think that the "Baja Bug" class, with buggy chassis, VW-styled lexan bodies, modern 2.2 buggy wheels front and back, and some kind of agreed-upon spec tires and motor-esc combo would be an awesome thing.

All of the great "old-is-new" RC10s and early Losi could follow this model. And it would bring it all back to the most old-school of old-school, the Sand Scorcher.

There is something so appealing about the configuration of these cars; they are so much more "scale" in appearance than the current generation of buggies, and frankly, it was the scale appearance of the Traxxas Slash that put short course racing on the map and attracted so many new drivers to the hobby at a time that it was floundering financially.

I'm putting a Losi VW-inspired vintage runner on my to-do list.

I bought a graphite team car a while back and it was on that. I didn't care for it on that car. but it looked really great on this one. Not sure what brand it is. Maybe someone else has some incite. Here is the back. I'm thinking its probably a proline rock crawler body.

Well last night being inspired by Rizzo's awsome bumper I created one of my own. Mind you its not as pretty but I needed a little longer one with more rake to go over fallen branches and stuff. Also my metal skills are not the best. Still here is what I got.

Still waiting on the body for the last step in this project.

Well Making lots of progress after I got the body...

Filled in some mounting holes as Ill be using velcro to attatch the body.

So I hit it up with some steel wool and viola



Lookin kinda scale. Used some brown paint on the chrome



And Im waiting on a roof rack but Im digging the look
